Michelle Barclay (otherwise known as our very own Sparkly Barclay) is a Business Manager of Creative Space and Freelance World, she finds Twitter an extremely valuable tool for business, and though she is no Social Media ‘Guru’ she feels that a lot can be learnt through sharing learning and skills with other business people who utilise Twitter along with other social media outlets.
She also makes a mean cupcake, but you’ll have to come along to the bake sale as part of the Macmillan Cancer Support One Big Coffee Morning, to test them for yourself!
(She’d love if you can bring along a laptop, ipad, or smart phone for the Lunch and Learn – which will include some Itsy Sarnies)Michelle will Chair a shared learning session covering such things as the value of tweetdeck and other software systems, what is your klout? Are you ensuring you are upholding ‘Twetiquette’ and what are the most valuable things you have learnt about Twitter.

Software developer since 1995. Worked during the early days of the World Wide Web for Aberdeen’s original ISP. Developed mobile applications for PDAs at the turn of the century so not just jumped on the apps bandwagon.
Worked on projects right through from individuals with business ideas, including one of the original BBC Dragons’ Den Dragons, Social Enterprise schemes in London and household name companies. Director of two software development companies.
Apps today are what websites were at the end of the 20th Century. Some serve a purpose, some are just there for the me toos. Does your business need an app? Or more importantly, what value will an app bring to your business?

We're almost glad that studying theatre didn't make David a great Hollywood superstar actor, because he's now one of the friendly faces of FreeAgent - sitting squarely on the front line of our community support and account management.
David is currently studying toward Exec Diploma in management (final year of MBA begins in January '12). 1st employee of FreeAgent. As partner manager he is involved in the operational support of existing FreeAgent partners, and facilitating the aquisition and support of others.
Living in Edinburgh with his awesome wife, David is addicted to tea
Joining the Dots, is a brief investigation of the perfect relationship with you client, assessing the support mechanisms you have to have in place to maintain comms with them, and understanding the costs if you don't sync every thing together.

Delivered primarily through a network of internationally hosted biannual conferences and online through social and mobile media, Social Media Week brings hundreds of thousands of people together every year through learning experiences that aim to advance our understanding of social media’s role in society. Social Media Week was held for the first time in February 2009 in New York City, and was launched as a “distributed conference,” with events taking place in locations throughout the city with organizations such as the New York Times, Wired, Razorfish and Nielsen.
Over 2,500 people attended over forty individual events, and thousands more participated online. In February 2010, we expanded SMW from one to six cities, reconvening in New York while adding London, Berlin, San Francisco, Toronto and São Paulo. The multi-city evolution of Social Media Week attracted more than 7,500 attendees across 200 events, nearly all of which were made available for free to attendees thanks to sponsorship from a number of global brands, including Meebo, Motorola, Vodafone and PepsiCo.
Part of an international event spanning a week, Creative Space are hosting a series of informal discussions & seminars on Social Media, with expert guest speakers addressing Social Media for business.
It’s free all day, hosted by Creative Space at Freelance World. Oh did we mention the excellent coffee and (home-baked) cakes mean we’re taking part in Macmillian’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning too? No? Oops! Well, there you go, educational, charitable and an altogether great time, what are you waiting for?
Pop in and see us for a coffee and a chat!
All you have to do is follow this link to the Social Media Week event page!
